Ex-Super Eagles captain set to join Kano Pillars

Just three months after playing his testimonial game, ex-Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo is set to sign for Kano Pillars and play in their remaining Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) games of the season. Yobo has signed an ambassadorial deal with the League Management Company (LMC) who are the organisers of the NPFL. The LMC organisers of the NPFL on Tuesday, June 21 announced that Yobo has signed a deal which will make him eligible to play for any interested club in the last 12 games of the season. ALSO READ: FIFA President unveils Yobo as NPFL ambassador “Yobo will soon be assigned to a club under the #NPFL Elite Players Scheme which Sani Kaita benefited from two seasons ago,” the LMC wrote on their Twitter account. “4 #NPFL clubs Akwa Utd, FC Ifeanyiubah, Kano Pillars & Wikki Tourists are bidding to land the former Super Eagles defender.” Ifeanyi Ubah FC were favourite to sign the former Everton defender due to his friendship with the proprietor, Ifeanyi Ubah but Kano Pillars have won the race.
