Having played top level football for more than 10 years, Lionel Messi has had time to build an insane shirt collection. Messi on Tuesday, May 9 took to his Facebook to show off his shirt collection which includes jerseys of clubs and countries. In the photo, Messi is seated alongside his son Thiago in a room that has his remarkable shirt collection.

The 29-year-old has played in almost every stage in football, as such his shirt collection boasts of some of the biggest names in world football. Paval Nedved, Sergio Aguero, Thierry Henry, Raul, Iker Casillas, Francesco Totti, Philipp Lahm and Yaya Toure are some of the names found on the back of shirts in the photo. There are however lesser known names like Xabi Prieto of Real Sociedad and Youssef El Arabi of Qatari club, Lekhwiya.

Messi also has a lot of his Barcelona past and present teammates including Cesc Fabregas, Dani Alves, Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez. The Argentina captain also has a slew of his compatriot shirts; Diego Milito, Angel di Maria, Pablo Aimar’s names can be seen in the photo. In the 70 different shirts found in the photo, they are names of players from several countries with three just from Africa-Ivory Coast, Guinea and Morocco. There is, however, no sight of Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt, his biggest rival. Why does Messi not have a shirt of Ronaldo? Ego might be the answer. Like he once said in an interview, he does not ask opposition players. He said he has only asked France and Real Madrid legend, Zinedine Zidane. “I don't ask for shirts. If there is an Argentine, I will swap with an Argentine,” Messi told Invictus. “If not and there is someone else that asks me, I will swap it with them. If not, I do not look and do not ask. “I asked, once…I asked (Zinedine) Zidane.” If Messi does not ask anyone for a shirt swap, we don’t see Ronaldo doing that either.
