Reports have it that the 'Loyal' singer could face up to 14 years behind bars if he's found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon.
Legal expert, Troy Slaten, told E!News about the charges stating the maximum penalty for assault with a deadly weapon as four years in state prison, but this could be enhanced because of the alleged use of a gun in the crime.
According to him, "Assault with a deadly weapon is a possible felony in California, and there is a significant enhancement for using a firearm in the commission of a crime.
An enhancement means that, if convicted and found true, your prison sentence is increased or 'enhanced." Adding, "So theoretically 14 years is the statutory max. But that would be very unlikely without a long rap sheet."
