The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed that the Super Eagles will receive match bonuses for their 1-0 win over Tanzania. The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday, September 3 beat Tanzania 1-0 in a dead rubber 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. There have been reports that the players have been informed that they will not be getting any match bonuses for the game but the NFF have falsified them.John Mikel Obi and Super Eagles players
Spokesman of the NFF, Ademola Olajire on Wednesday, September 7 revealed that the bonuses will be paid before the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia in October. “They will be paid the bonus later, possibly before the World Cup qualifier in Zambia,” Olajire said in an interview with Brila FM. Super Eagles players and the NFF are however still at war over the N10m gift from the Akwa Ibom State Government. The Akwa Ibom State Government gifted the Super Eagles with N10m for their 1-0 victory over Tanzania and the players are furious with the NFF who have converted the N10m to camp allowances. According to Vanguard, the players were surprised to hear that the N10m will be used as their camp allowances instead of a separate reward from the Akwa Ibom State Government.
